WHO WE ARE

This organization, administered by a group of Caribbean-Canadian nationals, is determined to help other Caribbean heritage nationals here in Ontario and the Caribbean in their time of need. Caribbean Canadian Relief Education Medical Assistance is a non-profit charity, focused primarily on the youths and the less privileged, who encounter major challenges as they aspire to achieve their goals in the community, and as they seek a better opportunity in life. This includes education, medical assistance, and other forms of emergency support, including agency referrals.

OUR CAUSES

Lobby funding for students experiencing difficulties in meeting their basic necessities to maintain their studies and a healthy living and for those less fortunate in the Caribbean make up our relief efforts. Such funding also provides routine meals to those in shelters and helps in the rebuilding/repairing of damaged homes.

  • SVG HURRICANE DISASTER HOUSE PROJECT

    Out of compassion to the impact of hurricanes in the Caribbean, SVG Toronto Consulate and the SVG ADHOC committee in Toronto made up of various community groups, including SVG REMA, through appeals and fundraisers acquired funds to construct a home for one of the larger but less privileged families who lost their home by hurricane damage.

  • BOOK CONTRIBUTION

    Through the generosity of Mohawk College in Hamilton and Superior Medical Ltd in Toronto, The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College benefited from a gift of 1,000 textbooks. The books cover a wide range of disciplines such as health, mathematics, sociology, business, computer sciences, etc.

    “Regatta Caribbean” is a Social Event, which through the community’s overwhelming response has transcended the spirit of kindness of vast variety of foods, performances of many entertainers who donated their time and talents in support of the initiative and its purpose?

This organization originated out of compassion for persons, especially students experiencing difficulties in meeting such basic needs necessary to maintain their studies and a healthy living, many of whom are underprivileged, unemployed immigrants of Caribbean heritage and neglected homes due to incarceration or disabled parent/s.

Radiothon for Caribbean flood countries

Joint venture with Radiothon under the theme “REBUILDING LIVES” hosted by Toronto’s most popular Urban radio station G987 “The Way we Groove” on Sunday May 4th, 2014 to assist the three OECS countries recently affected by the passage of the Christmas floods on December 24th 2013. Continue reading…
